Attendance
At the South SILC, through the promotion of good attendance we aim to raise the levels of achievement for all our young people. We want to work effectively with parents, carers and young people to maximise opportunities both in school and out so we endorse the catch phrase ‘Every Lesson Counts!’
What is a persistent absentee?
When your child’s attendance drops below 90%, in line with authority guidelines they are classed as a ‘persistent absentee’. At this stage an initial letter will be sent out in case we need to explore opportunities for support of that young person and their family. Further procedural information is explained in the attendance policy.

Leave of Absence
All leave of absence requests must be submitted by completing the leave request form.
The completed form should be emailed to the school office at Broomfield@broomfieldschool.org.uk before making any arrangements. Please note that absences for family holidays will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances.
