Broomfield SILC

B2 is a specialist classroom for children with ASC at the Windmill Partnership of Broomfield South SILC.

There are currently 7 children in this class with one specialist teacher and 3 learning support assistants. One of these children is in full time inclusion with a learning support assistant.

The classroom is a calm environment with displays on the walls which are similar to the kinds they will find in their mainstream classes. These consist of visual prompts for the children and PECs symbols should they feel the need to use them.

Some children from B2 join in mainstream lessons of Maths and English in mixed Year 3/4 and 5/6 SEN groups, four times a week. Some other children join in Topic lessons twice a week in a mainstream Year 3 class.

Children take part in, In Harmony sessions around school. They have the opportunity to learn an instrument and join in choir.

The children also have access to the Broomfield facilities including Rebound, Sensory Room, kitchen, adapted bikes etc on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.
