B2 - Cannon Hall

B2 enjoyed a fun (but wet!) day out to Cannon Hall farm at the start of the academic year. This was organised, and paid for, by the Variety club charity.  Miss Garner bought some animal food and the children enjoyed feeding the various farm animals via the metal shoots – can you spot any in the photos?  At the farm there were the regular farm animals such as cows, horses, pigs and goats as well as the unusual – Meerkats!  We also got to stroke a rabbit and guinea pig and watch sheep racing!  As well as having fun the children in B2 were learning to be independent – walking around the farm holding hands with a peer and not with an adult.  This is such an important life skill to learn and we were lucky to practise it in a safe enclosed environment such as the farm.  At the end of the day we went to a disco organised by the Variety club in a big marquee where we had ice lollies, biscuits and juice…as well as a dance.
